Witbank: Senior Dealmaker

JOB PURPOSE The Senior Dealmaker is responsible for evaluating and presenting complex funding applications, structuring high-value transactions, and ensuring alignment with strategic business unit objectives and broader industry development goals. The role includes leading due diligence teams across financial, technical and marketing disciplines, identifying and mitigating risks, closing transactions through to first drawdown, and supporting the Regional Manager in implementing strategic initiatives. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Relevant commercial or technical Honours degree (minimum requirement). CA(SA) qualification advantageous. Knowledge & Experience 810 years related experience, with at least 8 years in deal assessment and transaction closing (managing approved deals through to first drawdown). Competency declared in all three due diligence disciplines (Marketing, Technical and Financial). Strong grounding across all three disciplines. Proven experience leading complex and high-value transactions. Experience assessing legal, financial and commercial transaction risks. Experience in peer review and quality assurance of due diligence outputs. Strong financial statement interpretation and financial modelling review capability. Knowledge of market environments, technology landscapes and structured financing instruments. Demonstrated coaching and mentoring capability. Ensure the financial soundness and quality of all credit submissions. Lead high-value and complex due diligence processes across financial, technical and marketing disciplines. Design and negotiate financial and legal transaction structures with clients. Identify, assess and mitigate transaction-related risks (including legal and commercial risks). Optimise transactions to ensure alignment with strategic and industry development objectives. Manage approved transactions through to first drawdown, ensuring timely conclusion of legal agreements. Prepare comprehensive, well-motivated reports for presentation to Credit and relevant governance committees. Conduct peer reviews across due diligence disciplines. Support the development and implementation of strategies and action plans aligned to business unit objectives. Business Development & Stakeholder Engagement Build, maintain and manage a strong and sustainable deal pipeline. Proactively drive new business growth aligned to strategic initiatives, including targeted outreach, presentations, and regional engagement activities. Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional departments to ensure seamless transaction processes. Maintain high levels of service delivery and communication to ensure client service excellence. Leadership, Coaching & Capability Development Provide leadership during transaction due diligence processes. Coach, mentor and develop Business Analysts and Dealmakers. Provide guidance in handling enquiries, structuring applications and managing complex transactions. Drive personal professional development and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams.
