Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Technologist (CT Tech) to join our healthcare imaging team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality CT scans in accordance with physician orders, ensuring patient safety, and providing excellent patient care throughout the imaging process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CT (Computed Tomography) scanning equipment to produce diagnostic images.
- Prepare and position patients for CT exams, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Explain procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns.
- Perform imaging procedures according to physicians orders and established protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with HIPAA and departmental standards.
- Evaluate images for quality and collaborate with radiologists to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
- Administer contrast injections or oral contrast as required, monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Maintain and care for CT equipment; report malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Follow radiation safety standards to protect patients, self, and staff.
- Participate in continuing education and training to maintain professional credentials.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography and CT (or eligibility to obtain).
- Valid state license as required.
- Prior experience as a CT Technologist preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and patient-centered approach.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move patients as necessary.
- Manual dexterity to operate equipment.
