About the Role

Our client, a leading organisation in Port Elizabeth, is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join their team. As a key member of the tax department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with tax regulations and providing expert advice to staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the supervision of tax department staff
  • Advise staff on tax compliance-related issues
  • Assist the tax manager with the research of tax information, processing of tax queries, and liaising with SARS
  • Manage the flow of work and ensure quality delivery of tax staff outputs in relation to audits, income tax returns, provisional tax returns, Tax Ombud complaints, objections, appeals, and tax exemption applications
  • Assist tax manager with dispute resolution processes and follow up on all disputes

Requirements

  • Grade 12 with accounting as a subject
  • Tax or other relevant qualifications
  • Decent track record of work experience (5 years)
  • Experience in a tax environment is essential
  • Registered Tax Practitioner or eligibility to be registered
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to interpret and apply the Income Tax Act, Tax Administration Act, and VAT Act for various tax-related projects
