Job Description
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians in the design and construction of civil engineering projects.
2. Develop and implement engineering designs, plans, and specifications for infrastructure projects.
3. Conduct site inspections and surveys to assess project feasibility and compliance with regulatory requirements.
4. Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
5. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
6. Review and approve project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
7. Monitor project progress and address any issues or challenges that arise.
8. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards on all projects.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
2. Professional Engineering (PrENG) registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
3. Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on urban infrastructure projects.
4. Strong technical skills in engineering software and drawing programs.
5. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
6. Knowledge of relevant industry codes and regulations.
7. Experience managing and mentoring a team of engineers and technicians.
8. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
9. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
