About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Financial Manager to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and effective day-to-day finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • GL processing through to trial balance
  • Oversight and involvement in debtors and creditors processing and management
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Supporting the Financial Manager with audits and year-end processes

Requirements

  • Completed BCom Degree (Accounting or similar)
  • SAICA or SAIPA articles completed
  • Up to 4 years relevant experience in a manufacturing or retail environment
  • Solid experience with GL processing to trial balance
  • Proven exposure to debtors and creditors management

Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Financial Manager for a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role offers an exciting opportunity to add value within a leading brand in the leasing and rental industry, where accuracy, efficiency, and proactive problem-solving are key to success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive management accounts, including budgets, forecasts, cash flow statements, and detailed variance analyses.

My client is looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to join their fast-paced team and contribute to their financial excellence. This is a 6 month contract role based in Bruma, Johannesburg East. Key Responsibilities: Compile management accounts, including budgets, forecasts, cash flows, variance analysis, and commentaries. Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Prepare financial forecasts and annual budgets, and meet all reporting requirements (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual). Complete yearly tax packs and ensure compliance with tax legislation. Control income and expenditure, and conduct monthly variance analyses of financial statements. Review weekly and monthly creditor payments and prepare month-end journals. Ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are compiled, reviewed, and cleared within 30 days. Complete VAT returns and ensure VAT reasonability. Balance inter-divisional loan accounts weekly. Develop and manage financial controls and procedures. Liaise with Internal and External Auditors. Address queries and communicate effectively with branches. Identify opportunities to minimize costs or increase revenue. Build and manage stakeholder relationships to achieve operational objectives. Job Experience and Skills Required: Degree or Honours in Finance, Economics, or Accounting. About the Role

A well-established business within the manufacturing and retail sector is seeking a capable Assistant Finance Manager to support the full finance function and manage a sizeable finance team. This role is well suited to a technically strong professional who enjoys month-end pressure, people management, and maintaining high financial standards in a fast-paced operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • General ledger processing up to trial balance
  • Month-end close and audit preparation
  • Managing debtors and creditors processing
  • Assisting with financial reporting and analysis
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Managing and reviewing work of direct reports (810 staff)
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards

Requirements

  • Qualification: BCom with SAICA / SAIPA / CIMA
  • Experience: 35 years relevant finance experience
  • Industry: Manufacturing or Retail experience preferred
  • Technical: Strong GL, trial balance, and month-end exposure
  • Management: Proven experience managing a medium-sized finance team

Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
