About the Role
Our client, a leading manufacturing entity in Northern Cape Town, is seeking a meticulous Accounts Clerk to focus primarily on the Accounts Payable function while providing crucial support for inventory management and stock-taking activities. This role is essential for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial and inventory records.
Key Responsibilities
- Process all supplier invoices accurately.
- Match purchase orders, delivery notes, Goods Received Notes (GRNs), and invoices.
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Communicate with suppliers via phone, email, and in-person to resolve billing queries and discrepancies.
- Follow up on overdue invoices and payments.
- Facilitate new supplier credit applications or increases in existing limits.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable and inventory transactions.
- Maintain organized filing systems for financial records (electronic and paper).
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting regulations.
- Perform other administrative tasks as required by the Finance Department.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience is essential, with FMCG experience recommended.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Working knowledge of Syspro is recommended.
- Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently but also function effectively as a team player.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
