Job Description

Desired Experience & Qualification Experience in the FMCG and manufacturing sector. Strong competencies Safety Management Systems, leadership and supervision, incident investigation and management, legal compliance management, HSE reporting and administration, emergency preparedness and response coordination, risk assessments, hazard identification, auditing, and continous improvement processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a high standard if report writing are essential. (Strong Lead on administration and documentation) Reports to: Site Manager Requirements: SAMTRAC. Diploma in Safety is an advantage. 3-5 year’s relevant experience. Duties & Responsibilities Develop, implement and maintain compliant safety management systems, while continuously driving system improvements. Monitor workplace activities to ensure safe work practices are followed. Review and update safety policies, procedures and safe work instructions. Manage and Supervise Safety Officers, allocate responsibilities and manage team expectations. Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings and site awareness campaigns. Maintain all HSE registers, permits and documentation, ensuring that the SHE Document Control is compliant and up to date. Ensure all safety files and contractor details are up to date. Ensure seemless collaboration with quality and compliance departments for document control and uniformity within existing standards. Ensure safety commitees meet regularly and all reported issues are resolved. Preparations of safety reports. Ensure all visitors and contractors are inducted. Ensure that all safety protocols are adequately communicated and adhered to. Enforce safety rules, regulations and policies across site, fostering a safe-work culture. Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans and documents. Overse and coordinate emergency drills and evacuation activities across site. Ensure all emergency equipment is available as required and inspected regularly to maintain full compliance. Support in all compliance audits with safety expertise, document control and site inspections. Ensure live tracking of safety initiatives. Develop safety mitigation plans for raised safety concerns, pertaining to compliance related issues, risk assessments and reported incidents.
