About the Role
Our client, a reputable firm in the civil engineering consulting industry, is seeking an experienced Civil Draughtsperson to join their dynamic team in Springbok. With a focus on excellence and client satisfaction, they are looking for a skilled professional to deliver innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, and profiles for civil engineering projects, including earthworks, roads, drainage systems, and utilities.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to translate design concepts into accurate and comprehensive drawings.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and project specifications in all drafting work.
- Utilize Civil 3D software to create 3D models, surfaces, and alignments for site development and infrastructure projects.
- Generate terrain models, grading designs, and cross-sections to support engineering analysis and design optimization.
- Assist in the preparation of quantity take-offs and construction documentation based on Civil 3D models.
- Review drawings and designs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements.
- Conduct regular checks and revisions as needed to maintain the quality and integrity of drafting work.
- Collaborate with project teams to address design issues and implement necessary revisions in a timely manner.
- Work closely with engineers, surveyors, and other stakeholders to coordinate drafting efforts and resolve design-related challenges.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients to clarify requirements, discuss design options, and provide progress updates.
- Participate in design meetings, project reviews, and technical discussions to contribute to project success.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a design office or consulting firm environment within civil engineering infrastructure.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software is essential.
- Strong technical knowledge of earthworks, municipal services, and bulk systems design.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or related field is preferred.
