About the Role
A dynamic agency based in Cape Town who helps businesses make “authentic digital connections with people” by offering a range of services that cover the entire digital landscape, is seeking a Junior Social Media Content Creator to join their vibrant marketing team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for creating engaging content across various social media platforms and assisting in planning and executing innovative campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Create & Curate: Develop, edit, and schedule captivating content (posts, stories, Reels, TikToks, graphics) across various social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and YouTube.
- Plan & Execute: Assist in the planning and execution of social media calendars and innovative campaigns.
- Craft Compelling Copy: Write clear, engaging, and on-brand copy that resonates with diverse audiences.
- Collaborate: Work closely with designers, developers, social media managers, photographers, and videographers to produce high-quality content.
- Engage & Monitor: Keep an eye on social media engagement, responding to comments and messages in a voice that’s true to each brand.
- Track & Report: Help track social media metrics and contribute to performance reports.
- Stay Ahead: Keep your finger on the pulse of the latest social media trends, platform updates, and best practices.
- Brainstorm: Contribute fresh and innovative content ideas to team discussions.
- Support Growth: Assist with community-building initiatives and collaborate on influencer/partner projects when needed.
Requirements
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a marketing, content creation, or social media role, whether in an agency or in-house.
- Platform Savvy: A solid understanding of major social media platforms and their unique best practices.
- Design Basics: Fundamental design skills using tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
- Writing Prowess: Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen eye for grammar and brand tone.
- Visual Interest: A genuine interest in photography/videography and familiarity with creating engaging short-form video content (e.g., Reels, TikTok).
- Organization: Strong organizational and time management skills to juggle multiple tasks effectively.
- Growth Mindset: An eagerness to learn, adapt quickly, and stay current with industry trends.
- Team Player: The ability to collaborate effectively with a team and embrace constructive feedback.
