About the Role
We are seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef to join our culinary team at HotelJobs in Polokwane. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting exquisite pastry dishes for both a la carte and banqueting services in a hotel setting, requiring a passion for culinary excellence, innovation, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute innovative dessert and pastry menus.
- Specialize in chocolate, sugar work, and advanced pastry techniques.
- Lead; train, and mentor the pastry team to ensure professional growth and performance.
- Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all pastry products.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and kitchen team for menu planning and special events.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Formal pastry or culinary qualification.
- 35 years of professional pastry experience, preferably in a hotel or high-end restaurant environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent creativity and innovation in pastry design and presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Passion for culinary excellence and attention to detail.
