About the Role
A Deli Manager position is available at a renowned retail food store in Zwelitsha, South Africa. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading a team and driving performance. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for creating a positive customer experience, managing staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff Management: Creating work schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak and off-peak hours.
- Customer Service: Engaging with customers to understand their needs, answering questions, and addressing any concerns or complaints.
- Food Preparation and Safety: Overseeing the preparation and presentation of deli products, including meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches, while adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
- Financial Management: Managing the deli budget, including controlling costs and maximizing profitability.
- Store Operations: Designing attractive product displays to encourage sales and enhance the overall shopping experience.
- Marketing and Promotion: Developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote deli products and attract customers.
Requirements
- Chef experience
- At least 3 years of experience within a similar role
- Strong leadership skills are essential for managing a team and driving performance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and address their needs.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, including inventory control, staff scheduling, and financial management.
Qualifications
- Completed degree in Food Management or related field (if applicable)
Salary & Benefits
