About the Role
Our client, a leader in the mining and engineering sector, is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Rigger to join their dynamic operations in the Northern Cape. This is an opportunity for a qualified tradesperson to work on large-scale, heavy mining equipment within a world-class safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with mine safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- Conduct risk assessments before task execution
- Apply knowledge of Company and Mine COPs and SOPs
- Maintain, repair, and install heavy mining equipment
- Perform audits, tests, upgrades, and emergency repairs
- Operate rigging equipment safely for load handling
- Inspect and certify lifting equipment for legal compliance
- Conduct regulatory inspections on cranes and telehandlers
Requirements
- Must be currently situated in the Northern Cape
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- Red Seal Trade Certificate as a Rigger
- N2 Qualification in a related field of trade
- 3+ years post-trade experience within the mining industry
- Proven previous working experience on Heavy Mining Vehicles (HMV)
- A valid drivers license
- Must be medically fit and able to pass a comprehensive mine medical examination
Qualifications
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- Red Seal Trade Certificate as a Rigger
- N2 Qualification in a related field of trade
- Working at Heights Certificate
- Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) Certificate
