About the Role
A boutique 5-star hotel in the Eastern Cape is seeking an experienced Hotel Operations Manager to support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the hotel. This is a hands-on, senior operational role requiring strong leadership, excellent Front Office expertise, and well-rounded hotel experience across all departments. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring seamless daily operations, exceptional guest experiences, and consistent service standards in a refined, intimate hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager with the daily operation of the hotel
- Ensure smooth coordination between Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, and Maintenance
- Maintain consistent service delivery aligned to boutique 5-star standards
- Oversee guest experience, VIP handling, and service recovery
- Conduct Duty Manager shifts and act as senior management on duty when required
- Support staffing, rosters, performance management, and team development
- Monitor operational standards, presentation, and guest feedback
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Hotel Operations Manager, Rooms Division Manager, or Senior Duty Manager
- Strong Front Office background within boutique 5-star or luxury hotel environments
- Solid all-round hotel operational experience (Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, F&B interface)
- Experience working closely with a General Manager in daily hotel operations
- Strong understanding of 5-star service standards and personalised guest experiences
Qualifications
- Relevant Hotel / Hospitality Management qualification
