About the Role
Join a dynamic finance team where you’ll play a key role as the Accountant in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and contributing to efficient accounting operations. Work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering meaningful and high-quality financial support.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting & General Finance: Maintain accurate financial records up to trial balance.
- Process staff-related expenses, including loans, repayments, and deductions.
- Manage and balance intercompany debtors, creditors, and loan accounts monthly.
- Process monthly recurring invoices and journals (e.g., management fees, bonus provisions).
- Payments & Treasury: Prepare, load, and verify bi-weekly payment runs. Ensure timely salary payments via online banking platforms. Coordinate end-to-end credit card payment processing.
- Manage cash flow between accounts to optimise interest returns.
- Commissions & Tax (SARS): Prepare, finalise, and distribute commission schedules for payroll. Submit EMP201 returns accurately and on time. Calculate and submit VAT201 returns for the group.
- Support EMP501 submissions alongside HR. Complete and submit dividend tax declarations timeously.
- Reporting & Audit: Provide accurate, timely communication of business unit results. Compile and distribute monthly reporting packs. Assist in preparing audit files and manage audit queries.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of IFRS and GAAP.
- Advantageous: Income tax and VAT law experience.
- High accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise, stay organised, and perform under pressure.
- Deadline-driven, professional, patient, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Accountant or in a similar role. Experience with intercompany transactions is essential. Matric/Grade 12 with Maths and Accounting. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (SAIPA articles advantageous).
