About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our team in the Western Cape region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in General Litigation, with significant experience in managing complex cases and working independently. A valid driver’s licence and own vehicle are advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a full general litigation caseload from inception to finalisation
- Attending court appearances, consultations, mediations, and pre-trials
- Drafting pleadings, affidavits, notices, and legal correspondence
- Liaising with clients, counsel, sheriffs, and correspondents
- Conducting legal research and providing legal opinions where required
- File management and ensuring matter progression within deadlines
Requirements
- Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
- 25 years post-admission experience in General Litigation
- Strong Magistrates Court and/or High Court litigation experience
- Ability to work independently and manage own matters
- Strong drafting and litigation skills
- Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Valid drivers licence (advantageous)
- Own vehicle (advantageous)
