About the Role
As a Butler in our luxurious lodge, you will be the personal touchpoint for guests throughout their entire stay, delivering highly personalised, anticipatory service that creates truly memorable safari experiences. You will work closely with all lodge departments to ensure every guest’s needs are met with warmth, discretion, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome, greet, and acknowledge guests using appropriate forms of address and the correct levels of discretion
- Escort guests to their accommodation and conduct a full orientation of their room and all available facilities
- Complete detailed pre-arrival inspections of all rooms, amenities, and facilities ahead of guest check-in
- Provide dedicated, personalised service to an allocated group of guests for the full duration of their stay
- Anticipate and respond promptly to all guest requests, liaising with the relevant departments to ensure efficient delivery
- Request drink preferences prior to game drives and communicate these to the ranger team accordingly
- Coordinate unique dining experiences and special celebrations within the lodge grounds in collaboration with the Lodge Manager
- Communicate all guest allergies, dietary preferences, likes, and dislikes to the relevant departments
- Maintain and update accurate records of guest preferences while upholding strict privacy standards
- Check in with guests regularly to ensure complete satisfaction with food, beverage, and all other services
- Bid farewell to departing guests with the same warmth and professionalism extended throughout their stay
Requirements
- Grade 12 essential
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a 5-star property in a similar role, with a food & beverage and/or housekeeping background
- Exceptional communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Well-presented, polished, and professional with a warm and gracious demeanour
