About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Group Financial Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, managing our budgeting processes, and overseeing the functioning of our SYSPRO ERP system.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and review monthly management accounts from trial balance to financial statements
- Present financial reports and performance ratios to Directors
- Manage budgeting processes and report on budget vs actual deviations
- Ensure correct functioning and integrity of the SYSPRO ERP system
- Oversee cash flow, bank facilities, overdrafts, and foreign currency management
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
- Oversee annual audit processes and finalisation of financial statements
- Review and maintain Bills of Materials and product costing structures
- Monitor unit costs in line with production and consumption
- Recalculate and maintain overhead and product costing within SYSPRO
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements (SARS, company registrations, etc.)
- Assist management with SQL data extraction and financial analysis
- Support weekly and monthly financial reporting requirements
Requirements
- Matric with Mathematics
- BCom in Finance
- Minimum 4 years experience in a similar financial accounting role
- Strong experience with SYSPRO (ERP system)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio experience
- CIMA qualification (preferred)
- Manufacturing environment experience beneficial
