About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Specialist to join our client’s team in Cape Town, South Africa. As a technical expert, you will lead the implementation of cutting-edge technology across multiple sites, ensuring production runs efficiently, reliably, and at maximum capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, optimise and maintain automated manufacturing systems
  • Analyse data transfer issues between PLC and MES
  • Lead automation projects and assist with critical breakdowns
  • Ensure all new installations meet strict company standards
  • Draft documentation for maintenance and optimization processes
  • Travel to various plants for installations, consultations, and inspections

Requirements

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or relevant
  • Strong background in PLC programming and VFDs
  • Ability to eradicate recurring technical stoppages
  • Skilled at training teams and collaborating with Group engineers
  • Willingness to travel nationwide between plants as required
  • Passion for researching and implementing new tech
