About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Junior Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team in Germiston. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will support with electrical and mechanical duties, fault finding, and preventative maintenance activities. This role is ideal for a recently qualified Millwright or an individual with limited post-trade experience looking to grow within a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive tasks and complete duties allocated by the Maintenance Supervisor
• Obtain correct process instructions for each specific job to be performed
• Execute machinery setups and line changes swiftly to minimize production downtime
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safe industrial working practices
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and health and safety legislation
• Attend promptly to all mechanical or electrical breakdowns and line stoppages
• Conduct scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance on plant equipment
• Perform shift work, overtime, and standby duties according to company rosters

Requirements

• Relevant experience in hydraulic and pneumatic function and control
• Working knowledge of programmable logic controllers and human-machine interfaces
• Willingness to work under pressure, overtime, and shift structures when required
• Possession of a valid driver license and own reliable transportation

Qualifications

Minimum qualification in Electrical, Millwright, or Mechatronics fields

Millwright Trade Test certification with limited or no post-qualification experience
