About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team in Boksburg, Johannesburg. As a key member of our field service team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and repair services to customers through regular on-site visits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical service and support to customers through regular on-site visits, including repairs and tool calibrations.
  • Perform repairs and field service support on industrial power tooling and associated equipment.
  • Deliver technical support during breakdowns, both telephonically and on-site when required.
  • Conduct calibrations and preventative maintenance in line with laboratory standards and ISO procedures.
  • Plan, manage, and carry out the installation and commissioning of equipment at customer premises.
  • Maintain accurate records of all service activities, repairs, and calibrations.
  • Compile and submit detailed service reports on repairs, breakdowns, and incidents.
  • Provide customers with technical advice and feedback on equipment usage and performance.
  • Ensure all workshop and field service documentation is completed accurately and kept up to date.
  • Work closely with the sales department to support customer requirements and service delivery.
  • Program and configure tightening systems and tool controllers.
  • Support integration of tools with production line software and digital systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues within connected manufacturing environments.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s licence (essential)
  • 2+ years minimum working experience
  • Engineering Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (essential)
  • Proven experience in a Field Service Technician or similar technical role
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components and systems, software and digital systems
