About the Role

Join a leading, design-driven brand in Cape Town City Centre as a Packaging Designer, where you will collaborate with product developers and merchandising teams to bring products to life through innovative, functional, and visually striking packaging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product developers and merchandising teams on packaging concepts
  • Develop packaging specifications with cost and sustainability in mind
  • Liaise with suppliers on die-lines and production processes
  • Prepare detailed packaging briefs for designers and stakeholders
  • Manage packaging timelines from concept to production
  • Review and approve final packaging designs
  • Conduct quality checks on samples (print, colour, structure)
  • Maintain product specification sheets and packaging records
  • Drive eco-friendly and sustainable packaging initiatives

Requirements

  • 3–5 years’ experience in packaging development and design
  • Strong understanding of packaging materials and technical specifications
  • Experience with die-lines and print processes
  • Background in product or industrial design (advantageous)
  • Experience within a homeware or retail environment preferred
