About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cargo Duty Manager to join our team at the Cape Town City Centre airport. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe movement of cargo through our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain customer satisfaction by providing optimal customer experience and keeping clients informed of their cargo whereabouts.
- Engage with relevant departments to address client concerns and rebuild positive relationships.
- Conduct daily security briefings and enforce corrective measures to comply with occupational health and safety regulations and Client policies and procedures.
- Identify and report suspicious, undeclared, and miss-declared cargo in relation to Dangerous Goods regulations and Client security standards.
- Promote awareness of hazards and steer clear of demarcated areas using signs and signals.
- Brief employees on evacuation protocols and monitor that staff display Permits and wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
- Investigate non-conformance incidents, implement preventative measures based on recommendations from the Quality department and/or Senior Management.
- Manage and ensure daily inspection checklists for warehouse equipment are completed to identify serviceable and unserviceable items.
- Engage with relevant service providers to obtain quotations and follow up on purchase orders.
- Report any unserviceable electronic equipment to Superior and/or IT department immediately.
Requirements
- Diploma in Supply Chain Management or equivalent (NQF Level 5)
- Minimum 2 years working experience in the Airline or Freight industry
