About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Polokwane on a 12-month contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing mining-related projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are completed within agreed timelines and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee mining-related projects from initiation to completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate and manage contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with mine health and safety standards, company policies, and legal requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and project meetings to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and present project progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize delays and cost overruns.
  • Ensure quality control measures are maintained throughout all project phases.
  • Manage procurement processes and ensure availability of project materials and equipment.
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and operational performance.
  • Ensure all project documentation is maintained accurately and updated accordingly.

Requirements

Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Mining or a related field. Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) will be advantageous. Minimum of 10 years experience working as a Project Manager within the mining industry. Proven experience managing large-scale mining, construction, infrastructure, or underground projects.
