About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Chef for a modern, four-star hotel located in the Cape Town Waterfront. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a brigade of approximately 45 staff members and oversee all kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement high-quality cuisine menus, including à la carte, conference and banqueting menus, room service offerings, and seasonal/promotional menu development.
- Plan and manage menu costing, innovation, and promotional strategy.
- Ensure optimal efficiency and cost control through effective stock control management.
- Maintain thorough knowledge and implementation of hygiene and food safety standards.
- Provide strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to staff training, coaching, and performance management.
- Demonstrate sound Industrial Relations knowledge with effective conflict resolution skills.
- Present with charm, confidence, and sophistication in a guest-focused environment.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a four- or five-star hotel environment, serving as either Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef.
- Matric certificate and a Culinary Diploma from a reputable chef school.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
