About the Role
The SELLING USED CAR SALES MANAGER position at our client’s dealership in Johannesburg requires an experienced professional to lead the sales team and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in motor industry sales management, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and oversee all sales and promotional activities for the vehicle brand.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the Sales Team to achieve or exceed sales objectives with respect to customer requirements, workflow processes, systems, and related activities.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s financial and OEM requirements.
- Develop and manage sustainable relationships with customers that contribute to a culture of customer service excellence.
- Continuously analyze customer behavior, competitor behavior, market, and economic conditions and adjust the sales approach.
- Create an engaging, enabling, and productive organizational culture through mentoring and coaching.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Relevant National Diploma/Degree/Equivalent with a Business Management qualification (advantageous)
- 5-10 years’ experience in the motor industry, especially at Dealership level
- Solid experience and innerworkings of new and used vehicle sales management, aftersales business, F&I offerings, and extensive financial/business experience
- Working knowledge with the OEM at a National Level (advantageous)
- In-depth knowledge of the pre-owned market with marketing & sales strategy, reconditioning, stock management, and pricing
- Broad understanding of the legislative framework relating to the motor industry
