Job Description

About the Role

Our client is an established group of companies in the logistics industry, specializing in container depots and expanding into other areas of logistics. They are seeking a Senior Finance Executive with exceptional technical and problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to work, and a proven ability to deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with IFRS.
Identify and manage financial risks through the implementation of appropriate accounting procedures and internal controls.
Collaborate with directors to prepare consolidated annual budgets and forecasts.
Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for submission to key stakeholders.
Oversee audit preparations and ensure findings are resolved before the next audit cycle.
Review and enhance accounting and reporting systems.
Prepare and address queries on monthly management accounts.
Manage full accounting functions, including income statements, accounts receivable/payable, and assets for all subsidiaries.
Oversee payroll and compliance with SARS and CIPC requirements.
Effectively manage cash flows and relationships with financial institutions.
Review and approve EFT payments and ensure proper documentation and filing systems are maintained.

Requirements

B.Com in Financial Accounting or Financial Management.
Completed articles with an accredited audit firm and/or membership with SAICA, ACCA, or CIMA (advantageous).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a core finance environment.
At least 3 years of management experience.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including graphs, pivots, and V-lookups (tested during the interview).
Strong capability in financial modeling and analysis.
Excellent interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Ability to establish strong stakeholder relationships, manage teams effectively, and solve complex problems.
Logistics industry experience is not mandatory but is considered advantageous.
