About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Lodge Manager to join our busy 5-star luxury safari lodge in the Greater Hoedspruit area. As a senior operational leader, you will support the Lodge Manager and act as their representative in their absence, overseeing all aspects of Front of House, Housekeeping, Maintenance, HR, Finance, and Health & Safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the Front of House team to ensure world-class guest experiences
- Oversee daily Front of House admin, including day sheets, rooming lists, arrivals, reception, curio shop, and switchboard
- Manage guest feedback processes and ensure service recovery is handled professionally
- Lead the housekeeping team and uphold immaculate lodge standards
- Conduct room and turndown spot checks and oversee uniform control
- Lead and supervise the lodge maintenance team with a strong preventative maintenance focus
- Work closely with reserve maintenance to ensure accommodation and guest areas are maintained to standard
- Coordinate health and safety management, including risk assessments and safety committees
- Ensure fire equipment and drills are in place and maintain a safe working environment
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years management experience in a 5-star lodge environment (boutique / Big 5)
- Hospitality Management qualification
- Strong operational and financial experience
- Room Division experience essential
- Practical maintenance understanding advantageous
- High emotional intelligence and strong service training ability
- Fluent English (spoken and written) with strong communication skills
- Valid drivers licence and own reliable transport essential

Salary & Benefits
- Monthly salary: R38,000 – R40,000 per month (negotiable DOE)
