About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with skills and experience gained in low voltage electrical boards or equivalent industry to join our client’s team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing layouts, pricing equipment, and preparing quotations for low voltage systems. If you have a strong technical background, excellent customer engagement skills, and attention to detail, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Design layouts and price equipment and electrical boards based on single line diagrams and bills of quantity
- Create and share quotes on low voltage systems
- Read tender specifications and guidelines and prepare general arrangement sketches
- Design electrical board sizes to determine the cost of metal work
- Design electrical equipment layouts to determine the cost of copper work, wiring, and equipment
- Engage with customers to answer technical queries and verify requirements
- Revise quotations based on updated information received from customers
- Liaise with suppliers for specialised equipment when required
- Assist walk-in customers and provide support with technical enquiries
- Work effectively within a team-driven environment
Requirements
- Relevant technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field (advantageous)
- Experience in an estimating role within the electrical or related engineering industry
- Strong ability to interpret single line diagrams, bills of quantity, and tender specifications
- Knowledge of low voltage systems and electrical board layouts
- Ability to cost metal work, copper work, wiring, and equipment accurately
- Strong customer engagement and communication skills
- Ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
