About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Pastry Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our pastry offering, you will work closely with our senior kitchen team to deliver high-quality, consistent pastries while maintaining a focus on creativity and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and production of all pastry items
- Ensure consistency in quality, presentation, and portioning
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry section
- Follow recipes and standard operating procedures accurately
- Support with stock rotation, labelling, and basic inventory control
- Assist with daily mise en place and service execution
- Work efficiently under pressure during service
- Uphold food safety and hygiene standards at all times
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in a pastry or kitchen role
- Basic understanding of pastry techniques and kitchen operations
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good time management and ability to follow instruction
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays
