About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Pastry Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team in Cape Town City Centre. As a passionate pastry enthusiast, you will have the opportunity to grow within a fast-paced, quality-driven environment that values consistency, creativity, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and production of all pastry items
  • Ensure consistency in quality, presentation, and portioning
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry section
  • Follow recipes and standard operating procedures accurately
  • Support with stock rotation, labelling, and basic inventory control
  • Assist with daily mise en place and service execution
  • Work efficiently under pressure during service
  • Uphold food safety and hygiene standards at all times

Requirements

Minimum 3 years experience in a pastry or kitchen role

Basic understanding of pastry techniques and kitchen operations

Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

Good time management and ability to follow instruction

Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays
