About the Role
Assegai Recruitment (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Assistant Engineer’s Representative to join our team in East London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and extensive experience working on national roads’ projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Engineer in administering and supervising road maintenance and construction contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Engineer in administering and supervising road maintenance and construction contracts
- Ensure compliance with contract documentation, specifications, and quality standards
- Monitor contractor performance, labour-based methods, and site progress
- Prepare site reports, measurements, and documentation as required
- Liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and the Engineer on site-related matters
Requirements
Professional ECSA registration as a PrTech/PrTechni
Civil Engineering qualification from a recognised tertiary institution
Minimum 5 years’ experience working on national roads’ projects
Labour Intensive Construction NQF 5 (non-negotiable)
Proficient in preparing programmes including monitoring, updating, and tracking progress
