About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Personal Lines Underwriter to join our team in Highlands North, Johannesburg. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for analyzing insurance applications, managing policy rates, and providing exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Assessment: Analyze insurance applications and evaluate personal, asset, and building information.
Policy Management: Set premium rates, accept liability, and process endorsements accurately.
Client Service: Respond promptly to client and broker queries, efficiently manage daily administrative tasks.
Renewals & Retention: Handle renewals, process claim-driven corrective actions, and contribute to business retention.
Binder Agreements: Monitor productivity for brokers managing outsourced binder contracts.
Surveys & Quotes: Request VAR surveys as needed and provide accurate insurance quotations.
Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to company underwriting procedures, checklists, and industry regulations.
Diary Management: Organize and prioritize tasks for timely completion.

Requirements

Matric certificate
Full NQF Level 4 FETC in Short Term Insurance
Regulatory Exam (RE 5)
Class of Business Personal Lines
CPD points up to date
Minimum 5 years experience in Short Term Insurance, with a strong focus on Personal Lines Underwriting
Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Excellent communication and administrative skills
