About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bookkeeper to join our team in Durban. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies, and providing financial reports to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions by establishing accounts and posting transactions
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies
- Reconcile and balance all accounts
- Process general journals
- Generate financial statements including trial balance, income statement, and balance sheet
- Verify source documents such as invoices and receipts
- Prepare financial reports by analysing and summarising account information and trends
- Track and maintain inventory records
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare payments
- Calculate and prepare VAT submissions and payments
- Assist with budget preparation
- Support internal and external audits
- Maintain a complete filing system to accompany financial records
- Conduct monthly branch audits (Stock / Assets)

- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar bookkeeping role
