About the Role
The Food & Beverage Manager at Bright Placements is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations within the lodge, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient service delivery, and strong financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Oversee daily food and beverage operations (restaurant, bar, and dining experiences)
- Ensure seamless coordination between kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Maintain high service standards and guest satisfaction at all times
- Manage dining schedules, special events, and guest requirements
- Guest Experience: Interact with guests to ensure exceptional service delivery
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests professionally
- Ensure personalized and memorable dining experiences
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise F&B staff
- Manage staff rosters, attendance, and performance
- Conduct regular training on service standards, hygiene, and product knowledge
- Foster a positive and professional team environment
- Stock Control & Procurement: Oversee stock control, ordering, and inventory management
- Minimize wastage and control costs effectively
- Work closely with suppliers and ensure quality of products
- Financial Management: Monitor budgets, food costs, and beverage costs
- Analyze sales and implement strategies to improve revenue
- Ensure all POS systems and cash handling procedures are followed
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
- Diploma/Degree in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred)
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a Food & Beverage management role
- Previous experience in a lodge, hotel, or luxury hospitality environment
