About the Role
Esteem Recruitment is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Vehicle Inspector to join our team in Cape Town. As a Vehicle Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring vehicles are properly maintained and ready for use each day. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong administrative abilities, and a basic understanding of vehicles and their components.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure vehicles are cleaned, refueled, and ready for use each day.
- Monitor and report any vehicle damages using tools like Record 360.
- Issue and manage insurance claims by collecting necessary paperwork from drivers.
- Prepare vehicles for scheduled maintenance and check for service warnings.
- Validate mileage and inspect dashboards for warning lights.
- Ensure vehicles are equipped with tools and spare wheels.
- Respond to vehicle-related issues raised by drivers.
- Report non-compliance or wear-and-tear issues (e.g., worn tyres) to management.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate or equivalent with at least 1 year working experience.
- Valid South African ID and valid driver’s licence.
- Basic understanding of vehicles and their components.
- Good communication skills in English, with strong administrative ability and the ability to read and follow checklists and procedures accurately.
- Physically fit and able to work on your feet throughout the day.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required for this role. However, relevant experience and training in vehicle inspection or a related field would be an asset.
