About the Role
The Construction Supervisor will oversee construction deliverables and manage a single field discipline or subset of assigned construction projects in accordance with company policies and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for construction and contractor-related deliverables
- Management and execution of a single field discipline or a subset of assigned construction project(s)
- Execution of work in accordance with quality and safety standards and requirements specified for the project
- Management of installation, commissioning, and completion activities for some materials and equipment
- Ensuring safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to workers engaged within their area(s) of control
- Ensuring all workers within their area(s) of control receive appropriate training to perform their work in a safe, legal, and competent manner
- Initiating safety, quality, and environmental processes within their area(s) of control
- Managing and controlling project cost and schedule of assigned discipline / subset of on-site construction
- Coordinating supply and delivery of equipment, subcontractors, consumables, accommodation, and other project-specific requirements
- Understanding and managing the industrial relations environment impacting the site and reporting any issues as required
- Working with engineering in the design phases to influence the design for optimum constructability
Requirements
- Typically minimum qualified to ISCED Level 5 (technical diploma / apprenticeship) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience
- Appropriate level of field construction experience, typically gained through a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant industry
- Well-organised, observant, good interpersonal and communication skills
- Display both good judgment and leadership qualities
- Ability to work with timelines/targets
- Ability to be assertive and drive culture change when required
Qualifications
- ISCED Level 5 (technical diploma / apprenticeship) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience
