About the Role
The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing daily cargo and warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with safety, security, and operational procedures, and leading a team of staff to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily cargo and warehouse operations
- Allocate staff and resources to ensure smooth workflow
- Manage rosters, attendance, and team performance
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, and operational procedures
- Lead, coach, and support employees
- Handle disciplinary and IR-related matters when required
- Monitor vehicles, equipment, and operational resources
- Conduct audits, incident reporting, and corrective actions
- Ensure accurate cargo processing, planning, manifesting, and billing
- Manage customer and supplier relationships
- Resolve operational issues and improve service delivery
- Maintain on-time performance and support business objectives
Requirements
- Certificate in Supply Chain Management (NQF Level 5)
- Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in cargo, logistics, or warehouse operations
- Minimum 3 years’ management experience
- Experience handling HR and IR matters
- Knowledge of health & safety and regulatory compliance
- Computer literate
- Willing to work abnormal hours when required

- Dangerous Goods Category 6
- Aviation Security Level 3
- Live Animal / Perishable Training
- Safety Management Systems
- Cargo Warehouse Operations Training
- Winfreight and IQSMS systems knowledge
