About the Role
The Power Plant Maintenance Engineer position is available at our client’s GCC Factories in Nelspruit. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient maintenance of the power plant, with a focus on preventative measures to minimize downtime and optimize overall plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct plant preventative maintenance activities
- Assess planned maintenance activities and provide input
- Analyze major breakdowns and contribute to strategies for improvement
- Develop strategies in line with O & M Strategies for the Engineering Department
- Implement initiatives to reduce breakdowns
- Ensure effective implementation of plant preventative maintenance
- Demonstrate understanding of power plant operations and associated risks
- Implement SHERQ Management Systems
- Manage projects effectively
- Utilize MS Excel, Word, Project Management, and PowerPoint skills
- Conduct auditing activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience working with GCC Factories
- Minimum 15 years of experience in a POWER PLANT / Utilities environment
- Strong understanding of power plant operations and associated risks
- Familiarity with SHERQ Management Systems
- Project management skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Project Management, and PowerPoint
