Host / Duty Manager – 5* Boutique Beach Hotel – Ballito, KZN Kendrick Recruitment is on the search for a warm, switched-on Host / Duty Manager for an intimate 5-star luxury beach house on the KZN North Coast, celebrated for its barefoot elegance, calm atmosphere and deeply personalised guest experience. With just 10 rooms and a maximum of 20 guests at any time, this property operates more like staying with a trusted friend than checking into a hotel – which means the person in this role needs to genuinely love people and take real pride in the details that make a stay unforgettable. This is a shift-based, guest-facing role. You will be on the floor, not behind a desk. Please note: Candidates already residing in the Ballito/KZN North Coast area will be given strong preference. This is a live-out position. Key Responsibilities: Take full ownership of the guest experience during your shift – welcoming, engaging and anticipating needs Oversee operations across Front Office, F&B, Housekeeping and Spa during shift Manage guest special requests, occasions and preferences with a personalised touch Handle service recovery calmly and effectively Monitor and maintain the property’s ambiance, presentation and cleanliness standards throughout the shift Lead and support the team on the floor, stepping in across departments as needed Assist with front office systems (Opera Cloud) and POS (Micros) where required Complete daily reporting, handovers and end-of-day/night audit procedures when scheduled What We Are Looking For: Previous experience in a guest-facing role within a 5* boutique hotel environment A natural, professional and warm hosting style High attention to detail and strong situational awareness Calm under pressure with sound decision-making ability Well-presented; well-spoken and highly accountable Familiarity with Opera Cloud and Micros advantageous Flexibility to work shifts, evenings, weekends and public holidays Stable work history with contactable references Package: Gross Salary: R11,000 per month Contributions to Medical Aid and Provident Fund Live-out position (accommodation not included) Should you feel you are the right fit for this role, please apply with your updated CV, a motivation letter, contactable references and a recent head & shoulders photo ASAP! ?
