About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our team in Benoni. As a key member of our receiving department, you will be responsible for ensuring that goods received are accurately captured and processed on our inventory system.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and verify deliveries against purchase orders and supplier invoices.
- Inspect incoming stock for damages, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately capture and process goods received on the inventory system.
- Ensure correct labeling, storage, and distribution of stock.
- Maintain organized receiving and warehouse areas.
- Coordinate with suppliers, warehouse staff, and store management regarding stock issues.
- Conduct stock counts and assist with inventory control processes.
- Adhere to health, safety, and company procedures at all times.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience as a Receiving Clerk within the retail building materials, hardware, or construction supplies industry.
- Strong knowledge of receiving procedures, stock control, and inventory management.
- Experience working with ERP or stock management systems.
- Good understanding of building materials, hardware products, and related stock categories.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Must be able to work alternative weekends.
