Job Description

Our client is seeking a driven, target-orientated, and professional External Sales Representative to join their team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, promoting products and services, and achieving sales targets. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong business development abilities, and the capability to work effectively in a fast-paced and competitive environment.

Minimum requirement

  • Matric
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ sales experience within the construction or civil industry
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Must be willing to travel

Duties and responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base and increase sales revenue
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Conduct regular client visits to promote products and services and provide professional sales support
  • Present the company’s products and services to customers and explain features, benefits, and pricing structures
  • Generate leads through networking, referrals, cold calling, and market research
  • Prepare and submit quotations, proposals, and sales agreements to customers
  • Negotiate pricing and terms within company guidelines to secure sales opportunities
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify new opportunities
  • Maintain accurate customer records and update sales activities on the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system
  • Follow up on quotations, enquiries, and customer orders to ensure excellent service delivery
  • Resolve customer queries and complaints promptly and professionally
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure the timely processing and delivery of orders
  • Conduct product demonstrations and provide technical information where required
  • Compile and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports to management
  • Attend sales meetings, training sessions, exhibitions, and industry events to promote the company and strengthen business relationships
  • Manage an assigned sales territory effectively to maximise growth and profitability
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through continuous communication and after-sales support
  • Monitor stock availability and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Maintain a professional image and represent the company in a positive manner at all times
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements while conducting sales activities
  • Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to support business development and continuous improvement initiatives

Remuneration

Negotiable, depending on experience

Work hours

Monday – Thursday: 08h00 – 17h00

Friday: 08h00 – 16h00
