Port Elizabeth: Odin Ed Business Development Associate posted by Jendmark

Job Description

About the Role

Odin is building the future of education in South Africa — connecting forward-thinking corporates with high-impact education solutions and growing a rapidly expanding client base. Our aim is to triple that base within two years. Our compliance funding vertical is the engine driving that growth, and this role is at its centre.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct structured virtual discovery calls with inbound corporate leads

* Qualify prospects against defined criteria and assess readiness to engage

* Communicate the Odin value proposition clearly and confidently

* Accurately record where each prospect is in their decision-making process

* Escalate live, ready-to-engage opportunities to the Business Development Lead

* Maintain an organised, up-to-date pipeline of all contacts and conversations

* Attend in-person meetings in Johannesburg as required

* Surface additional opportunities that emerge through conversation

Requirements

* 3–7 years of experience in a commercial, sales, account management, or client-facing role — sector does not matter

* The ability to hold a confident, structured conversation with a senior decision-maker

* Genuine curiosity and strong listening skills — you ask the right questions and hear what is behind the answer

* Organised and methodical — you manage your pipeline, follow through, and do not drop the ball

* Professional presentation and written communication

* Johannesburg-based with own transport

* Commercially hungry — motivated by building something, not by finding a comfortable corporate seat

Qualifications

None mentioned.

Salary & Benefits

Performance incentive structure tied to pipeline outcomes. Direct coaching and mentorship from the BD Lead — structured, hands-on, and ongoing. Full immersion in a fast-moving sector at the intersection of education, technology, and corporate investment. Direct exposure to senior corporate deal-making from day one. A defined path to owning your own revenue space as the business scales.

Who Will Thrive in This Role?

This role suits someone who:

* Wants to develop genuine expertise in a specialist, high-value space — and is willing to put in the learning to get there

* Finds real satisfaction in qualifying and understanding a situation, not just in closing

* Takes their pipeline seriously and holds themselves accountable without being managed

* Sees coaching as an advantage and is the kind of person who runs with what they are given

* Is motivated by building something with long-term commercial value

What We Offer:

* Performance incentive structure tied to pipeline outcomes

* Direct coaching and mentorship from the BD Lead — structured, hands-on, and ongoing

* Full immersion in a fast-moving sector at the intersection of education, technology, and corporate investment

* Direct exposure to senior corporate deal-making from day one

* A defined path to owning your own revenue space as the business scales
