About the Role
The Underwriter is responsible for assessing the risk of insuring individuals, assets, or businesses to determine whether to accept an application and establish suitable coverage terms and premiums.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the risk of insuring individuals, assets, or businesses
- Evaluate the appropriateness of coverage terms and premiums
- Review and analyze insurance applications
- Make informed decisions regarding policy acceptance and coverage
Requirements
- Relevant experience in underwriting or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments
Qualifications
- Formal education in a relevant field (e.g. insurance, finance, law)
- Professional certification in underwriting or a related field (if applicable)
