About the Role
The Plant Maintenance Manager (2.13.1) is a critical role within our metallurgical plant, responsible for ensuring optimal equipment availability, reliability, and safety. As a legally appointed 2.13.1 responsible person under the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), you will be accountable for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment in a safe and compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Fulfil duties as a legally appointed 2.13.1 responsible person under the MHSA
- Ensure all plant equipment complies with statutory regulations and safety standards
- Oversee legal inspections, risk assessments, and audits
- Maintain accurate legal documentation and reporting
- Take responsibility for equipment-related safety incidents and investigations
- Manage the execution of planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance
- Ensure high levels of plant availability and reliability
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies and schedules
- Oversee plant shutdowns, repairs, and upgrades
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve asset utilisation
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency
Requirements
- Degree / Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- GCC (Mines & Works)
- Minimum 810 years experience in plant maintenance within mining
- Minimum 5 years in a management role
- Strong knowledge of gold plant equipment and maintenance systems
