About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Corporate Credit Analyst: Team Lead to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. This is a unique opportunity to combine strategic oversight with hands-on credit expertise, playing a pivotal role in shaping deal outcomes while leading a talented team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and optimise the performance of a team of credit analysts
- Drive quality, consistency, and turnaround times in credit submissions
- Add value in pre-credit discussions, deal structuring, and solution design
- Analyse complex financial statements, industry dynamics, and market risks
- Present clear, well-structured credit recommendations to senior decision-makers
- Ensure adherence to credit policies, regulatory standards, and risk frameworks
- Collaborate closely with front office, legal, compliance, and risk teams
- Support post-approval implementation and conditions of sanction
- Contribute to training, upskilling, and team development initiatives
- Participate in client engagements where required
Requirements
- BCom in Finance and/or Accounting
- Minimum 35 years experience in commercial or corporate credit risk
- Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis and credit ratios
- Sound understanding of the National Credit Act
- Advanced credit risk assessment and structuring capability
- Strong business acumen and decision-making confidence
- Leadership capability with the ability to coach and elevate a team
Qualifications
- Additional qualifications such as CA(SA), CFA, CIMA or MBA will be advantageous (if applicable)
