About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Credit Controller to manage and oversee our full credit control function across national retail accounts. The successful candidate will lead, mentor, and support a team of credit controllers to achieve collection targets, ensuring timely and accurate collection of outstanding debt and resolution of claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the full credit control function across national retail accounts
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of credit controllers to achieve collection targets
- Review, approve, and manage customer credit limits and ongoing risk exposure
- Oversee month-end processes including statements, reconciliations, and debt reporting
- Liaise with key internal departments to resolve account and process discrepancies
- Drive achievement of targeted Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
- Ensure compliance with relevant credit legislation and internal controls
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in Credit Control within FMCG or Retail environments
- Proven experience managing or supervising a credit control team
- Solid understanding of South African credit legislation
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong systems, SAP, and Excel capability
Qualifications
- Diploma OR Degree in Finance, Accounting OR Equivalent Credit Management qualification or coursework – advantageous
