Requirements: MBChB degree with research experience Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) Good management skills Computing skills appropriate for medical research Verbal, written and reading fluency in English Excellent Organisational and logistical skills Ability to work independently, as well as within a dynamic team The following will be advantageous : Previous research or clinical research experience Knowledge about TB and respiratory infections Availability to travel locally and internationally for site initiation and monitoring visits Fluency in Afrikaans and/or isiXhosa Good Clinical Practice Certificate The successful candidate will have the following major responsibilities: Recruitment and follow up of study participants in accordance with Good Clinical Practice Clinical evaluation of patients and patient safety management (reviewing adverse events and serious adverse events) Phlebotomy and transport of blood specimens to the laboratory from the clinical site may be occasionally required. Maintenance, cross-checking (QC) and entry of accurate data at clinical site Liaise closely and maintain effective communication with the project coordinator and the Principal Investigator. Keeping an up-to-date register of all studies detailing timelines for reporting to Funder, ethics renewals and recruitment status.
