About the Role
A well-established and dynamic South African law firm is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Admitted Attorney specializing in Civil Law or Criminal Law to join its litigation department.
Key Responsibilities
• Drafting pleadings, notices, affidavits, and legal correspondence
• Court appearances (Magistrates’ and High Courts)
• Legal research and opinion writing
• Client consultations and file management
• Case preparation and compliance management
• Performing any other legal and administrative duties as may reasonably be required
Requirements
- Newly admitted Attorney with minimum three years post-admission experience
- Right of Appearance in the High Court (preferred; if not obtained, candidate must be willing to urgently secure same)
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle (essential)
- Strong legal drafting skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
- Professional communication and client engagement skills
- Knowledge of civil law or criminal law and related procedures essential
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research

- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
