Facilities & Maintenance Technician | Co-Working Office Spaces | Cape Town Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled and self-motivated Facilities & Maintenance Technician for a growing co-working office environment based across multiple sites in Cape Town. This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with a strong electrical background who enjoys working independently, solving problems proactively and taking full ownership of facilities operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that multiple professional workspace locations remain safe, functional and maintained to a high standard. Package • Salary: R20,000 per month • Full-time position • Multi-site role across Cape Town CBD and Southern Suburbs The Role The Facilities & Maintenance Technician will take responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of several professional office environments. This position requires a proactive individual who can identify issues before they become problems, perform preventative maintenance and manage facilities with minimal supervision. ⚙️ Key Responsibilities • Perform general maintenance including plumbing repairs, carpentry, painting and general building upkeep • Conduct fault-finding and repairs on electrical, plumbing and facility systems • Carry out maintenance on single-phase electrical systems including lighting, plug points, wiring and DB boards • Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance across all sites • Identify and address maintenance concerns before they escalate into operational issues • Coordinate and oversee contractors and specialist service providers when required • Perform basic HVAC inspections, maintenance and troubleshooting • Liaise with HVAC contractors for more complex repairs and servicing • Prepare meeting rooms and event spaces, including basic AV setup and troubleshooting • Ensure all workspaces remain operational, presentable and member-ready • Travel between sites as required to manage maintenance needs Requirements • Proven experience as a Facilities Technician, Maintenance Technician or similar role • Previous experience within commercial offices, hospitality, co-working environments or related industries • Electrical qualification (N2, N3 or higher) essential • Strong practical experience with single-phase electrical systems and fault-finding • Solid plumbing, carpentry and general maintenance skills • Understanding of HVAC systems and facilities management principles • Experience managing contractors and service providers • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills • Valid driver’s licence essential ✨ Personal Attributes • Proactive and self-driven • Reliable and accountable • Strong communicator with a professional approach • Highly organised and detail-oriented • Able to work independently with minimal supervision • Solutions-focused with a preventative maintenance mindset • Comfortable working in active office environments while maintaining professionalism ⚠️ Please note: Due to the high volume of applications received, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
