About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Finance Manager to lead our finance function in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our executive team, you will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, visibility, and robust control across our manufacturing and retail operations. You will have the opportunity to modernise systems, build best-practice processes, and influence long-term business direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full ownership and leadership of the finance function, ensuring financial accuracy, visibility, and robust control
  • Oversight of monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and year-end processes
  • Preparation and review of management accounts, financial packs, IFRS-aligned reporting, and Board submissions
  • Managing external stakeholders including auditors, banks, advisors, and regulatory bodies
  • Overseeing cash flow management, capital planning, and investment analysis
  • Strengthening manufacturing finance, including cost accounting, production controls, margin analysis, and stock optimisation
  • Leading inter-company accounting, reconciliations, and supporting group consolidations
  • Enhancing financial systems and processes to improve automation, efficiency, and accuracy
  • Partnering closely with operations, supply chain, production, and executive leadership to drive performance and strategic execution

Requirements

  • CA(SA) essential
  • Post-articles experience (5 years) in a mid-to-senior finance leadership role
  • JSE-listed reporting experience (non-negotiable)
  • Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or product-based environments
  • Strong technical finance and IFRS expertise
  • Solid understanding of cost accounting, production finance, and procurement-related processes
  • Exposure to multi-entity/group structures and inter-company accounting

  • Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
